Carm – Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 July 2025

Welcome to Carm, a mobile application designed for personal reflection and self‑care through interactive tarot‑inspired conversations (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you meet the minimum age rating assigned to the App by the Apple App Store or Google Play in your country or region. If you do not meet the local age requirement, or if it is otherwise unlawful for you to use the App, do not download or use it.

2. License to You
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for private, non‑commercial purposes.

3. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: Reverse‑engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the App. Use the App to violate any law or infringe any third‑party right. Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code. Use the App to provide medical, legal, or financial advice to others.

4. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software in the App are owned by or licensed to the App’s publisher and are protected by applicable intellectual‑property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you.

5. User Content
If the App allows you to record journal entries, chat logs, or other materials (“User Content”), you retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant the App’s publisher a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to store and process it solely to operate and improve the App. You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not violate any law or third‑party right.

6. Entertainment & Reflection Only – No Medical Advice
Carm is for entertainment, personal reflection, and self‑care support only. The App’s tarot‑inspired insights and AI‑generated text are not medical or mental‑health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The App is not a medical device and is not intended to replace professional care. If you have—or think you may have—a psychological or medical condition, consult a qualified professional.

7. No Warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error‑free, or that any content will be accurate or reliable.

8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App’s publisher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the App. In any event, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to use the App in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, the license granted to you will automatically end.

10. Changes to the App and to These Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will take effect upon the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Third‑Party Services & App Store Terms
Your use of the App may be subject to the terms of the digital distribution platform (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play). Those terms are between you and the platform provider and may apply in addition to these Terms.

12. Governing Law
Unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer‑protection laws in your jurisdiction, these Terms will be interpreted according to the laws applicable where you reside.
